Life's a Beach...

It was Chris' day off yesterday so we went for a walk along the beach before it got too hot. I had my new green Croc's on so could paddle in and out of the water - Chris eyed them with some horror so I informed him that they were all the rage.... his reply was "who for, ducks"? Hmmm, not a fan of the Croc look then? LOL Anyways, walking along pootling about in the shallows and we spotted little schools of fish (that doesn't look right, maybe its shoals of fish)? Anyways, these little groups of fish were so cute, some had the most amazing stripes and would come quite close if you stayed still and they didn't spot the bright green Crocs!!
I started picking up pretty little shells until one I picked up suddenly produced a head and some claws and said ' oy, this one's occupied'!! I put him back a bit nippish!! ;)
What a beautiful sight to wak up to every morning.... yep, life's a beach alright!!

My air shipment arrived!! Yippee. was that quick or what? Wednesday evening they delivered it and this is what Thursday morning looked like!
I have to admit.... I'm getting pretty good at this packing and unpacking game....
Chris and I went shopping to pick up some bits to make the scrap room workable... do you like my new PINK computer chair? Kewl or what!! I also picked up this drawer unit for embellies and inks and stuff so hopefully the scrap room will begin to get a bit tidier and I will get closer to being able to scrap again!!
When we were in the HUGE stor at the mall that sells all the electronic stuff Chris showed me their craft section.... oh my, I was away with the fairies... found these extremely large sheets of coloured chipboard for silly money (about £2 a sheet) so my biggest fear of running out of materials to make mini books is now allayed!!
So, its coming together... the computer is set up, my new pink chair is in place and I am almost ready to go...
Once I put that lot away...
oh and put that lot away... but the unit from the spare bedroom with all the cupboards is going to be great...
and I have a quiet zone at the other side.... to sit with a magazine and get inspired....

Love is....

whilst I know Chris will never give me his last Rolo (he's a chocoholic and it would be expecting too much) last night he gave me his pillow. Aaaaah, bliss, to sleep with a comfortable pillow again! Chris is extremely attached to his pillow... he's like the Queen and travels with it!! This particular pillow has been to South Africa, spent a couple of years in Kazakhstan and now has been in Saudi for 6 months. I didn't have room in my case for a pillow so have had to use the hard, lumpy foam filled ones supplied with the house! Combined with the hardest mattress manufactured in the free world (and not so free world too) my nights have been pretty miserable since arriving here.... until last night when Chris gave me his pillow. Now that's love...

Horses sweat, men perspire and ladies gently glow...

so I guess you can call me a horse then.... LOL Its been a busy couple of days unpacking and exploring the house and re-arranging everything that DH has.... so now he can find nothing! ;) Spent the morning getting photos taken and wandering around the local hospital for a medical so they will put the stamp in my passport for a resident.... completely ignoring the fact that I did all this at their request a couple of weeks ago to get my visa!! I figure you all would love a good laugh so got DH to take a photo as I left the house this morning... very fetching eh? ;)

I think I have located a good scrapping spot!! (One must get one's priorities right and I will start to homify the place later). At the top of the stairs there is this large landing and a sort of smallish lounge which nobody will miss, seeing as how we have two of them downstairs, and I think it will be perfect for scrapping... and has a lovely large balcony off from it that overlooks the sea... so if I get scrappers block I can go and look at the ocean!!

Here's a pic of the back of the house and the middle large balcony is the one that leads off from the scraproom to be.

Just got an email to say that our shipment has cleared customs and is ready to be delivered!! Yahooooo! I never thought it would be that quick and it will be great to have all my stash again... oh and some kitchen stuff.... LOL

Last night I met my new neighbour, Odelia, who is a scrapper too! She's lovely and has 2 small boys, Kyler and Merrick, who are just gorgeous and will be appearing in a mini book near you in the near future!! :)

My bags are packed and I'm ready to go.....

All lined up ready for the off in the morning, and 15 kilos of excess baggage!! LOL
Teeny Ted is hanging about waiting for his adventures to start....
oh and this is what came off my camera as the moment Christopher got his award at the graduation.... well, what can I say? I was whooping, clapping and trying to get a photo all at the same time!! ;)
Luckily a professional photographer was also taking pics and he obviously wasn't whooping/cheering/clapping!!

Will be back online as soon as I can.... think sand and sun.....

He Graduated!! Yippppeeeeee!

OK, I am allowed a proud Mummy moment!! We all went down to Buckinghamshire to see Christopher graduate with a Bacheclor of Science Degree with Honours - and had a great time, albeit a bit hectic. My Mum flew over from the South of France, Chris flew in from Saudi and then we all flew down from Aberdeen to see the graduation.

Would you look at that pose?? Looks the part totally!! :)
Proud Mum and Son.
Chris, myself, Christopher and my Mum all enjoying his success.

I haven't disappeared altogether...

Well, this is what my room looked like before I started packing it all up...
with all my lovely stash just sitting about...
and this is what it looks like now!! eeeeeek!
and it took up my entire dining room in boxes waiting for the packers to come and collect it for shipment to Saudi.... I miss it already!! :(
